The FOTRIC YRH700 thermal imager has obtained MA coal mine safety certification. It limits the energy from wires and components exposed to potentially explosive environments inside the device—such as sparks or heat effects—so that it can't ignite the surrounding explosive mixtures, achieving full electrical explosion protection.

Why can the FOTRIC YRH700 thermal imager be used in coal mines?
The FOTRIC YRH700 thermal imager has obtained MA (coal mine safety) certification. The connecting wires and components inside the device that are exposed to potentially explosive environments have their possible electric sparks or thermal effect energy limited to levels incapable of igniting surrounding explosive mixtures — fully achieving electrical explosion protection.
What is MA (Coal Mine Safety) Certification?
MA certification is the abbreviated name for Coal Mine Product Safety Marking Certification.
The coal mine product safety marking management system is a mandatory management system applied to products related to mine safety production and miner safety and health (including equipment, materials, safety instruments, etc.). This system minimizes the entry of inferior products into underground mines and ensures coal mine safety production.

Why can’t regular thermal imagers be used in coal mines?
Regular thermal imagers may generate electric sparks or arcs during operation. These carry a certain amount of energy and can easily become ignition sources and heat sources for igniting mine methane and coal dust.
Are FOTRIC YRH700 thermal imagers suitable for non-coal mines?
Yes. According to Document No. 矿安[2022]123 from the National Mine Safety Administration, titled “Notice on Issuing the Catalog of Coal Mine Products Subject to Safety Marking Management,” products that have obtained coal mine product safety marking may be used in non-coal underground mines, and no additional safety marking for non-coal underground mines is required.
